Or Adam Sunlight School for Humanistic Judaism provides what Humanistic Jewish children need--an understanding of their own cultural history and identity outside the content of a traditional religious framework. At Sunlight School students from pre-school through tenth grade learn how to question, search for truth, and develop values geared toward the preservation and enhancement of human dignity. Best of all, we provide children with the opportunity to interact with other children who are part of their Jewish family, sharing in holiday celebrations, learning, and fun.
Students are grouped by age/grade into four small classes with an emphasis on individual attention. They meet separately, but from time to time, will join together for shared learning experiences. You and the instructors will jointly determine the appropriate class for your child. Pre-school may require parent participation for some children. Individual tutoring for Bar/Bat Mitzvah students is also available.
Class topics for the 2007/2008 school year will include Holidays, Humanistic Values, Yiddish Literature, Israel, Jewish History and Culture, Current Events and lots more. Plus, our teen class will also be participating in Club Adam --social events and community service projects. All classes begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Barness Family East Valley JCC in Chandler There are 15 sessions for 2007-08 on the following dates:
The tuition for Sunlight School is $150 for the first child and $125 for each additional child in a family. Tuition for children of non-members is $300 per child. |
